When all else turns bad, I just go to my happy place and everything is ok again

Joselito, or ”Jojo”, as he is fondly called by his family and friends, was born in the town of Obando in Bulacan, The Philippines. He is the second child and first son of the six children of Jacinto Jimenez Sr., a painter, and Filomena Tolentino Jimenz, a public elementary teacher.

Growing up, he developed his passion for painting at a young age, taking some inspiration from his simple provincial lifestyle. He finished his high school studies at the Colegio de San Pascual Baylon, formerly known as St. Pascual Institute, and later completed a course in Fine Arts at the University of the Philippines, Diliman Campus. He moved to Panabo City in Davao Del Norte in 1999.

He likes to interpret the places and people around him through his artworks. His works include commissioned paintings from clients in The Philippines and abroad, as well as advertisement and marketing materials for different private companies and various government projects. He is also a member of various art groups and organisations in The Philippines that promote arts and conduct training and seminars for young artist in the making.

He enjoys Plein Air painting during his free time, either alone or with friends, and he also bonds with his grandchildren though painting, who love painting and the arts.

He has participated in various art exhibits in Bulacan, Manila and Davao City, and at multiple international art contests. But it was on February of 2019 that he was able to fulfill one of his dreams - to have his own solo exhibit - through the help of his family, friends and colleagues in art. "It was a surreal experience that he will never forget" he said of that exhibit, as his art journey was narrated and shown from where and when it started, through his diverse artworks painted over his career.
