I am an Asian artist. How can you help me? Can I exhibit my works in the ACAGallerySG.com online gallery?

We are keen to help professional Asian artists as much as we can. We would love to see your artworks and consider you for exhibition in our gallery. Please use the Contact Us form on our website to send us information about yourself, along with examples of your artworks for consideration.

The example artworks should be sent as high-resolution photographs (typically 5-10 MB size) to enable zoom in to see the fine detail. The 'Contact Us' page has a 10 MB upload limit, but you can send us more examples by providing a dropbox link, or other large file transfer link. You can also ask us to set up a dropbox link for you to add your large files to.

Please make sure to send your CV. The CV should include the following information:

  • Your full name
  • Date of birth
  • Photograph of yourself
  • Education details
  • Career history as an artist
  • Any accomplishments, such as past exhibitions, residencies, awards or prizes

We regret that not all artists will be selected for exhibition. However, we may be able to collaborate with you in other ways. For example, by featuring you in our online magazine. We sell online to art collectors worldwide. We may be able to make your artworks available for purchase through the 'Artworks' and 'Artists' pages on our website.

Is the image on the website an accurate representation of the artwork?

The image is an accurate depiction of the artwork, but it has no contract value. If the artwork you ordered is not what you expected, please let us know within 14 days and we will arrange for you to return it in exchange for a voucher or a replacement of equal value, minus shipping costs.

Shipping & Tax

How are shipping costs determined?

Shipping costs are determined based on the price, dimensions, weight, shipping origin and shipping destination. Shipping costs include all packaging, handling, and insurance fees. However, for purchases that involve international shipping, the shipping cost excludes any required import taxes, customs duties, GST, VAT or other taxes that may be payable in the destination country. You will be required to pay any such destination country taxes or duties separately after the artwork has arrived in the destination country.

What taxes are payable on an artwork that I purchase, and how are they paid?

Any required sales tax payable in the country of artwork origin will be calculated at the applicable rate and automatically included in the sale price, paid when checking out using the cart on our website. However, if the purchase involves international shipping, the sale price and the shipping cost both exclude any taxes and/or duties payable in the destination country.

For purchases that involve international shipping, you, the buyer, will be responsible for making separate payment of any required import taxes or duties after the artwork shipment has arrived in your destination country (e.g. import tax, customs duty, goods and services tax (GST), Value Added Tax (VAT)). If such a payment is required, the shipping provider will contact you and/or send you an invoice for separate payment.

How is the required tax paid?

If a sales tax or goods and services tax (GST) is payable in the artwork sale country of origin, it will automatically be included in the sale price, so that component of tax will be paid at the time of purchase using the online cart.

If the origin and destination countries are different, any required tax or duty for import into your destination country is not included in the amount paid when checking out and paying with the online cart. You will be responsible for paying any required taxes or duties for import separately. The international shipping provider will invoice you separately for the import tax or duty after the artwork has arrived in your country.

How are artworks packaged for delivery?

Artworks are packaged either by the artist or by Asian Contemporary Art Gallery using a standardised packaging process designed to protect the artwork.

When will my order be shipped and delivered?

Processing and shipping times vary according to the packaging status at the time of purchase, shipping origin and shipping destination. Most orders are processed and shipped within 5 to 10 business days. Some items may be processed faster, while others might take more time if they require special packaging or handling. If the shipping time is expected to be longer than usual, this information will be stated on the artwork information page.

You will receive a shipment confirmation email with a tracking number after the shipping provider collects the packaged artwork for shipment. You can check the status of your package and the estimated delivery date online using the tracking number.

Do I need to sign for my package at the time of delivery?

Yes, all packages must be accepted and signed for at the time of delivery. Due to the valuable nature of artworks, your artwork package should not be left unattended.

Is the shipment of the artwork insured?

Yes

How is shipping insurance calculated?

The cost of shipping insurance is calculated based on the sale price of the artwork, the shipping origin and the shipping destination. The insurance cost is automatically included in the shipping fee and covers door-to-door handling.

Which countries do you ship to?

We ship to all countries that have access by international shipping providers.

What should I do if I receive a damaged item?

You may return the item and receive a refund. Or it may be possible for us to repair the artwork for you. Please refer to our return policy for more information and instructions. Please record evidence of the damage by photograph and video at the time of package receipt and opening.

Can I combine multiple items into one shipment to lower shipping costs?

Yes, but only for items shipped from the same location. Please contact us to enquire about this prior to making your online purchase.

How is shipping insurance calculated?

The cost of shipping insurance is calculated based on the sale price of the artwork, the shipping origin and the shipping destination. The insurance cost is automatically included in the shipping fee and covers door-to-door handling.

Framing & Care

What framing options do you offer?

Paintings on canvas will be shipped either rolled in a tube, or stretched on a wooden frame without an external perimeter framing. However, we can provide an external frame if requested. If you are interested in this, please contact us to enquire. However, please consider that framing will increase the size and weight of the artwork, thereby increasing the shipping cost for international shipments.

How can I best care for my artwork?

Proper framing, installation, cleaning and storage of your artwork are required to help prevent damage and to preserve the artwork.

All drawings, paintings on paper and prints that are not in storage should be framed to protect them from direct sunlight, humidity, moisture, dust and heat.

Return Policy

I've changed my mind and I don't want the artwork anymore. What can I do?

  • Photographs showing close up detail of any damage to the artwork

You will receive an email response from us that includes instructions on how to proceed. This will be sent within seven days of you sending us your claim of damage. Do not proceed to return the artwork until we have provided the return instructions.

I've returned an artwork following receipt of your return instructions. When and how will I receive the voucher or refund?

In the case of a return due to confirmed shipping damage, you will receive a full refund to the original mode of payment after the returned artwork has ben received. For all other returns you will receive the voucher by email after we have received the returned artwork in original, undamaged condition.

What is Asian Contemporary Art Gallery's return policy?

We accept returns for artworks damaged during shipping, which must be notified to us immediately upon receipt, with evidence of the shipping damage provided in a form adequate to enable insurance payment. Returns for other reasons will be accepted if you advise us within 14 days of receiving the artwork, and the artwork is returned undamaged.

To enable return of a damaged artwork to be accepted and processed we request that all buyers record evidence of the artwork packaging and artwork condition at the time of receipt in three steps, as follows:

The images of the Works shown on the Site are for illustrative purposes only. Although every effort has been made to display the colours accurately, the colours of the Works will be affected by the setting of the devices you use to view the images of the Works.

Information provided on the Site in respect of the Works and their creators are gathered by us directly from the creators, vendors and/or owners of the Works or through publicly available sources. While we make every effort to ensure that the information provided on the Site is accurate, we are unable to confirm that the information is accurate or complete. You are advised to conduct your own independent checks on all information relating to the Works, including their creators before ordering any Work(s).

While we make every effort to ensure that the Works are genuine and authentic, we make no warranty or representation that the Works are indeed genuine or authentic and you are advised to conduct you own independent checks on whether the Works are genuine and authentic.

If a Work that has been purchased and fully paid by you is discovered to be fake, we will refund to you the price of the Work and the delivery charges (if any) paid by you, within 21 business days from the date the Company receives supporting evidence from you proving that the Work is fake. For the avoidance of doubt, all refunds shall be subject to our assessment, at our discretion, that the Work purchased by you is in fact a fake.

HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We will use your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

HOW THE CONTRACT IS FORMED BETWEEN YOU AND THE COMPANY

Our Site will guide you through the steps you need to take to place an order with us. Our order process allows you to check and amend any errors before submitting your order to us. Please check your order and the information contained therein carefully at each stage of the order process.

After you place an order and pay for the Work(s), you will receive confirmation of the payment made by you. However, please note that the issuance of payment confirmation or a receipt does not mean that your order has been accepted by us. Our acceptance of your order will take place when we send the shipment tracking details for your order to you (the "Tracking Details"). Any order that is paid by you (including any handling and delivery charges) but not accepted by us will be refunded to you as soon as possible.

If we are unable to supply you with a Work, for example because the Work has been withdrawn for sale by its creator, owner or seller, we cannot meet your requested delivery date or because of an error in the price on our Site, we will inform you of this by e-mail or by calling you and we will not process your order. If you have already paid for the Work(s), we will refund you the full amount including any handling and delivery costs charged as soon as possible.

For the avoidance of doubt, no Contract is formed between you and the Company in respect of the Work(s) ordered by you until your order has been reviewed and accepted by the Company. Upon our acceptance of your order, we will send the Tracking Details to you.

OUR RIGHT TO VARY THESE TERMS

We reserve the right, in our sole discretion and without notice to you, to modify, discontinue or terminate the Site or to modify these Terms. If we modify these Terms, we will post the modification on the Site or provide you with notice of the modification. We will also update the "Last Updated Date". By continuing to access or use the Site after we have posted a modification on the Site or after we have notified you of a modification, you are indicating that you agree to be bound by the modified Terms. If the modified Terms are not acceptable to you, you may cease using the Site.

In respect of each Work, the Terms in force at the time of your order will form the Contract between you and us subject to our acceptance of your order.

For the avoidance of doubt, the Terms are subject to the relevant laws and regulatory requirements in Singapore, which shall prevail over the Terms and shall apply to all orders made with us through the Site.

If we have to revise the Terms in respect of your order prior to our acceptance of your order, we will contact you to give you reasonable advance notice of the changes and let you know how to cancel the order if you are not agreeable to the changes to the Terms. If you choose to cancel your order prior to shipping confirmation, we will arrange a full refund of the price you have paid, including any handling, delivery and insurance charges.

INDEMNITY

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold the Company, its directors, officers, employees, agents, vendors, partners, contractors, artists, institutions, distributors, representatives and affiliates harmless from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, in any way arising from, related to or in connection with your use of the Site, your violation of any law, your violation of the Terms or the posting or transmission of any materials on or through the Site by you, including, but not limited to, any third party claim that any information or materials you provide infringes any third party proprietary right. You agree to cooperate as fully as reasonably required in the defence of any claim. Your indemnification obligation will survive the termination of this Contract and/or your use of the Site, as the case may be.

DELIVERY

Delivery of an order shall be completed when we deliver the Work(s) to the address provided by you in the order.

You shall own the Work(s) only after we have received your payment in full including all applicable handling and delivery charges and upon our acceptance of your order.

If you order Works from our Site for delivery outside Singapore, your order may be subject to import duties and taxes at your overseas destinations. You will be responsible for the payment of any such import duties and taxes.

In respect of delivery of Work(s) outside Singapore, you must comply with, and be liable for, all applicable laws and regulations of the country for which the Works are destined.

RISK OF LOSS AND INSURANCE

The risk of loss of the Works will pass to you upon our delivery of the Works to the address provided by you in the order. Therefore, in the event of damage or loss during transit we will arrange for a full refund of the price you have paid, including any handling and delivery charges.

As we purchase shipping insurance which insures the Works against transit risks, you shall, if the Works are damaged or lost in the course of delivery to you, co-operate with us and provide us upon our request with all relevant information and supporting documents necessary to enable us to make a claim under our policy.

PRICE OF WORKS AND DELIVERY CHARGES

The price of a Work will be the price as quoted on our Site at the time you submit your order. We take all reasonable care to ensure that the prices of Works are reflected on the Site correctly. However, if we discover an error in the price of the Works ordered by you but before your order is accepted by us and before delivery of the Work is made, we will contact you to inform you in writing of this error and we will give you the option of continuing with the purchase of the Works at the correct price or cancelling your order. We will not process and accept your order until we have your written instructions. If we are unable to contact you, within three (3) days from the date of your order, using the contact details provided by you during the order process, we will not accept your order and treat it as cancelled. Further, we will refund the payment made by you and notify you in writing.

If goods and services tax ("GST") is applicable, the prices of Works shown on the Site will either include GST or GST will be shown as a separate amount. The GST, if any, shall be at the applicable current rate chargeable in Singapore for the time being.

The prices of Works shown on the Site may not include handling and delivery charges. Handling and delivery charges may be a separate charge, which will be notified to you during the check-out process.

HOW TO PAY

You can pay for the Work(s) by either an accepted credit card, via PayPal, or by direct bank transfer to our bank account.

Payment for the Work(s) and all applicable handling, delivery and insurance charges shall be made in full before delivery will be made.
